Hello all,
Well, I do apologise, it’s been far too long since I last posted a blog.
Despite the manifold economic problems in the world, Muffett Gears have been extremely busy over the past couple of years or so; clearly there’s still a high demand for precision machining & engineering.
2012 seems to be a year of changes for Muffett Gears. We have appointed Robert Bartlett as our General Manager, who we know will do his upmost for the Company since he has loyally worked here since joining as an Apprentice in 1978.
We are also looking forward to a re-fit of some of our offices here in Tunbridge Wells, which should take place very soon and we are investing in new machinery once again. Muffett Gears have placed an order for a new Gleason CNC Gear Shaping machine, which is due for delivery at the end of July.
Our future plans also include a new website, which is currently under construction but in the meantime, please take a look around our current site and if you have any queries or requirements, please give us a call on 01892 542111.
All the best,
Carrie
Hello all,
A quick blog to let you know that Tony Smith, M.D. at Muffett Gears, will be on the John Warnett & Julia George BBC Radio Kent Breakfast Show – Monday 7th February at 7.00am onwards.
Don’t forget to tune in…
Carrie
Welcome to the first Muffett Gears blog of 2011. I hope you had a nice break over Christmas and have fine prospects for the year ahead.
We have a busy month ahead of us in February. As mentioned in the last blog, we will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing Exhibition at Farnborough on 16th & 17th February and we welcome any visitors to our Stand M31.
In addition, we are very honoured to have a visit from the Kent branch of the Insitute of Directors to our factory in Tunbridge Wells on 24th February, along with a few of our customers and suppliers. We will be welcoming them with drinks & nibbles, entertaining them with a little presentation by our M.D. and giving them a guided tour of our facilities.

Hello again and welcome to this festive edition of our blog.
Things have been very busy at Muffett Gears lately and December is no exception. It’s nice to see the ‘credit crunch’ hasn’t been affecting us for a long while now. We hope that your own company, whether you’re an employer or employee is experiencing a similar pick-up in business.
We have recently invested £300,000 in two new machines, namely a Mori Seiki NV5000 Vertical Machining Centre (with special tooling for the making of gearbox cases) and a Tornos Gamma Sliding Head Lathe.
We can also now announce our intention to once again exhibit at the Southern Manufacturing Exhibition at Fanborough on 16th & 17th February 2011. If you’re going to be there too, make sure you come over to our stand and say ‘hello’!
We will also be, for the second year in a row, exhibiting at the Aero Engineering Show, which is located at Birmingham’s NEC on the 9th & 10th of November 2011. I know this is a long way off but these things can creep up on you so if it’s an area of interest to your business, remember to make a note in your diary!
Now, I think that’s enough business talk for one blog so to finish off how about you brew yourself a tea/coffee and tackle these festive anagrams. Rearrange the letters to make festive phrases (the numbers in brackets indicate how many words are in the phrase). Answers will be posted in the next blog.

Without wanting to sound too much like carol singers, we wish you a very Merry Christmas & a Prosperous New Year.
Carrie.
